My Travels: Madrid Madrid. - WARNING FIRST FEW IMAGES INCLUDE HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF BULLS AND THEIR SLAUGHTERING

Booked a hostel the day i left Brazil, and I was on my way to Europe.

Landed in Spain and spent 3 nights there

Visited the Bull fighting, but it wasn't until i was on the way that i actually learn't what happens. Pretty much i never knew they stabbed, and killed the Bull. i always thought the prancing around was just for entertainment.

The site of blood, and the smell of cigars.

I DON'T KNOW WHY IT'S CALLED A FIGHT, WHEN IT'S UNEVEN and UNFAIR GAME.

SO IT GOES LIKE THIS

First come out about 4 men, who make the bull run around a lot, to tire it out.

THEN COME OUT 2 MEN ON HORSES - THE BULLS RECEIVES IN ALL 2 STABS WITH A LARGE SPIKE FROM THE MAN ON THE HORSE. THEN HE HAS TO LEAVE. afterwards, more pink men come out to wear him out a little more.

I haven't added a picture, but then come 4 lots of men, who each stab 2 spikes into the shoulders of the bull. Which hang for the rest of the time. Then come out the men again, to tire the bull a little more.

THEN COMES THE MAN OF THE SHOW - THE BULL FIGHTER. He runs around, with the help from his pink sheeted friends, the bull becomes even more worn out. The bull fighter has 2 swords. I don't know what the difference is. (HERE PICTURES THE SPIKES HANGING OF THE BULL)

With the SECOND sword, he stabs the bull, and it eventually falls to the ground. One of the pink men come in and finish him of with a couple of stabs of a knife.

DRAGGED AWAY

ALL IN ALL ITS AN UNFAIR FIGHT FROM THE START - YOU SEE THE ANIMAL RUN OUT, HE LOOKS SO STRONG AND MUSCLY, A FABULOUS ANIMAL - BUT HE IS EASILY WORN OUT. SURROUNDED ALWAYS BY MEN WITH SOMETHING SHARP. ITS IS SEEN AS VERY MASCULIN AND HEROIC, BUT ITS REALLY NOT, THEY STAND THERE ONLY WITH A SHEET THAT ATTRACTS THE ANIMAL, THEY HOLD IT TO THE SIDE, SO OF COARSE ITS NOT GOING TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE MAN. THEN HE IS ATTACKED FROM ABOVE, THERE HE HAS NO CHANCE, NOT TO MENTION THE HORSES INVOLVED. AND THEN WHEN HE FINALLY IS KILLED AT THE END, HE HAS NO ENERGY TO FIGHT BACK.

IT MAY BE A CULTURAL DIFFERENCE, BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND THE ENTERTAINMENT IN SUCH A THING. I FOUND IT CRAZY, THAT VIOLENCE, ANIMAL CRUELTY WAS SO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - AND EVEN THOUGH IT WAS HORRIBLE WEATHER AND RAINING, PEOPLE STILL TURNED UP, THE STADIUM WAS FULL -, AND ON THE LAST FIGHT WE WATCHED, I WAS SHOCKED WHEN A MAN STOOD, AND STARTED APPLAUDING AT THE 'VICTORY' AND "WOOH"ED.

Though it EASES the mind to know this is band in some cities.
